少林小炮捶，可以说是少林拳中的王者。练习少林拳的人都知道，少林寺高僧为了寻找一种看家绝技，从少林寺初期形成的原始套路中，进行挑选出来一些武术动作精华，形成了一套完整的套路体系，在过去少林炮拳的套路是秘不外传的，就有大炮捶和小炮捶之说。小炮捶动作比较干脆、直接、明了、招式分明，动作较少。
